It is said that life is not made up of years, but of moments. It is the importance of those moments that we live for. Getting fit for your big moments is important. Sometimes it is important because the moment changes our lives forever, and we want to look and feel our best. Sometimes the moments are physically challenging, and we need stamina and endurance to accomplish our dreams. Whatever big moment is coming in your life, getting fit and ready can be done with planning and dedication.
Let’s look at a few examples of big moments that we celebrate. These are times that will never repeat themselves, so getting fit is even more important.
- This is a major event in life. Whether you are the bride, groom, or a bridesmaid that wants to look fantastic in her short bridesmaid dress; getting fit for a wedding is a priority.
- Of course, your honeymoon is going to be romantic. You will also go on adventures. Maybe you will swim in Hawaii or ski in the Alps. Maybe you want to explore ancient ruins in Mexico. All of these things require stamina and endurance. You want to be at your best.
- All eyes are on you when you receive your diploma. All your hard work has paid off and everyone who loves you wants a picture. This is a big accomplishment and you need to look your best.
- Starting a family
- Mom’s and dad’s both need to be in good shape when the decision of having a baby has been maid. Mom will have her health to consider as well as the health of the child. Dad is not off the hook. It takes both parents to keep up with the demands of a new baby. Those demands change over time, but you have signed up for the long road of parenthood and you better be fit and sharp for the job.

So, How Do You Get There from Here?
It may seem like a major problem, but it can be made simple. First of all, decide who is going on the journey. Is it you and your partner? Your bridal party? You, your spouse and children? Whoever it is, be sure it is a commitment to each other. Every member of the group needs to be supportive of the others. You have to hold one another accountable, but also be forgiving (we all mess up every now and then).
Set an activity that everyone can do
Almost everyone can walk at least a short distance. But some of us find that about as exciting as watching grass grow. Instead, choose something fun that will burn calories and let you laugh at the same time. Join a dance class as a group. Maybe it is a jazz class or get funky with some hip hop. It doesn’t have to cost much. You can buy discount dancewear online. Ride bikes, or join a gym. Just get moving.

Getting Fit For Big Dates
Dieting does not have to be torture. Cut out the sugar, junk food, and high-carb items. Eat lean meats, high-protein, and drink plenty of water. Check with your doctor about what it means to eat a balanced meal. If you are exercising, you need three balanced meals and two healthy snacks per day.
It may take a little time. You will see the inches reduced, and the numbers on the scale go down. Start now and be ready for the next big moment in your life.
